ABOUT THE EVENT
Want to learn about the art of bonsai? Learn the fundamentals for turning ordinary houseplants into a living work of art during this FREE EVENT! This open workshop covers the major styles of bonsai along with plant and container selection, branch and root pruning, wiring, and potting. We will also review what type of soil/fertilizer to use for your bonsai as well as regular care and maintenance. Finally learn about repotting bonsai using the "bare-root" technique, so you can enjoy your bonsai for many years to come. Barry Figard, the past president, for 12 years, of the Baltimore Bonsai Club, other members of the Baltimore Bonsai Club and members of the Maryland Bonsai Association will help participants style their own trees if you bring them with you (we will have a select few available for purchase)!
