As we enter the Dog Days of Summer, our local gardens and orchards are flush with a bounty of produce. How do you turn that bounty into a tasty treat that helps you beat the heat? Join Street Farm Manager and Frozen treat connoisseur Dan Weisshaar and explore how to make a variety of frozen treats including vegan sorbets, savory frozen custards, and refreshing popsicles that will be sure to cool your core temperature. Dan will cover techniques including using ice cream makers and how to adapt recipes if you don’t have an ice cream maker at home. Ticket price includes the class, recipes, and tasting. This class is open to the whole family with adult supervision.
This class is organized by Cultivate the City, an urban farming organization with four years of experience educating, cultivating, and nourishing the District with over 25 pesticide-free gardens.
If you have a group of 5 or more that want to attend or would like to schedule a private event, please contact us for a group discount. Your tickets help support urban farming projects in DC
